Precise AV Precise AV is a leading, NYC-based system integration company offering Audio Visual, videoconferencing and managed services solutions. Headquartered in Long Island City, just 15 minutes from Manhattan, we are innovative problem solvers, focused on helping people create well-planned, attractive presentation spaces that improve collaboration and productivity.

We have an immediate opening for an Audio Visual Technician. Our ideal candidate will have three to five years’ experience installing and servicing Audio Visual systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and installation of equipment, materials and systems as directed and specified in project documentation; may include, but not be limited to: rack assembly; audio, video and control terminations; speaker; installing video projectors, flat panel displays and projection screens
  • Reading and understanding AV system drawings and project documentation
  • Conduct in-house and onsite program testing and troubleshooting of audio, video and control systems
  • Report directly to Project Managers and Team Leaders, providing daily updates on project status

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience with commercial AV integration
  • InfoComm CTS-I strongly desired, manufacturer certifications a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of control and video distribution, structured cabling, equipment rack fabrication and terminations, including soldering, CAT5/6 and other common AV connectors
  • Experience working with Crestron, Polycom, Cisco, Extron and AMX control systems
  • Basic networking skills
  • Ability to understand and follow base building and electrical blueprints
  • Must be a team player, have a professional demeanor with strong verbal communication skills
  • Must have a desire to take ownership and responsibility for quality workmanship
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED (Technical Diploma, B.A. or A.A. a plus)
  • Must have a clean, valid Driver’s License
  • Be willing to work overtime evenings and weekends from time to time as necessary
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift moderately heavy equipment, stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, crawl under tables and have full hand dexterity to meet the physical demands of the position
