Precise AV Precise AV is a leading, NYC-based system integration company offering Audio Visual, videoconferencing and managed services solutions. We have an immediate opening for an AV Engineer/Systems Designer. Our ideal candidate will have three to five years overall Audio Visual related experience, of which at least two years will have been as an Engineer/Systems Designer.

Responsibilities

  • Design A/V Systems utilizing current technologies including Control systems (AMX/Crestron), DSPs, matrix mixers and switchers; videoconferencing codecs and endpoints (Cisco/Polycom)
  • Create and comprehend advanced system drawings and specifications
  • Provide technical oversight of projects from conception through installation and completion
  • Provide engineering and control system programming support to project installation team as needed
  • Perform site surveys and attend project meetings
  • Provide technical support to clients both pre- and post-project completion
  • Interface with clients to best understand customer specifications and requirements for AV systems
  • Provide second tier trouble shooting and provide suggestions for repair of systems
  • Trouble shooting existing systems provided by other AV vendors with little or no documentation
  • Contribute on projects from estimating through commissioning
  • Assist sales team with system design, budgeting and design/drawing activities
  • Report any project changes, issues, or concerns to assigned internal contacts
  • Maintain knowledge of current products and industry trends through vendor communications and industry training

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years engineering or technical service experience in the Commercial A/V Industry
  • InfoComm CTS-D strongly desired
  • Proficiency with Vectorworks a strong plus
  • A proven track record of providing turnkey solutions with client satisfaction as the ultimate goal
  • Be able to constructively work with project managers to complete systems within given deadlines
  • Must possess a working knowledge of: Crestron, AMX control systems, Polycom, Cisco, LifeSize video conferencing systems
  • Manufacturer certifications strongly desired
  • Experience in creating and deploying site files for SoundStructure, BiAmp and ClearOne audio DSP systems
  • Must be a team player, be able to effectively multitask and have strong communications skills
  • Have experience with web conferencing applications (Go-to meeting, WebEx, Skype, BlueJeans)
  • Must have Knowledge of wired and wireless data networks, to support video conferencing, VOIP, streaming media and controls systems
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Knowledge of corporate IT network communications a plus
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Patience, determination, discipline and maturity to manage time and effectively handle stressful situations, should they arise
  • Familiarity with other low-voltage disciplines (CCTV, Access Control, Network Cabling, etc.) a plus
